HARRIS COUNTY DISTRICT COURTS INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES

Note: Unless specifically indicated below, please contact the court directly regarding possible closure.

 

FAMILY COURTS DIVISION

ALL of the family courts will now follow the announcement of HISD.  If HISD cancels then there will be no docket calls in any of the Family courts (court will be open unless the building is closed by the county though).  If HISD starts late then the courts will call docket if docket start time is AFTER the HISD start time and will not call docket if docket start time is BEFORE the HISD start time.  Pref set trials should be handled directly with the court though.  IF the building is closed then all the courts are closed.  You may now rely on this rule unless a specify court puts out something independently.”

 

 

CRIMINAL COURTS DIVISION
The following Harris County District Courts will follow inclement weather closures as posted by the Houston Independent School District (HISD):

174th, 176th, 177th, 178th, 180th, 183rd, 184th, 185th, 209th, 228th, 230th, 232nd, 248th, 262nd, 337th, 338th, 339th, 351st.*

If HISD cancels school, there will be no docket calls in the listed Felony Courts; however, Courts may remain open unless the building is closed by Harris County Officials.  If the building is closed, then all the Courts will be closed.
If HISD starts late, the Court will call docket if the docket time is after the HISD start time; the Court will not call docket if the docket time is before the HISD start time.
ALL TRIAL SETTINGS SHALL BE HANDLED DIRECTLY WITH THE COURT.
