*UPDATE*- RETURNING TO COURT

 

BEGINNING MAY 2, 2022, the 338th District Court is returning to in-person court appearances. The Court expects all parties (defendants, prosecutors and defense attorneys) to be present in court on the date and time of their scheduled appearances unless a request has been timely made and ruled by the court, showing good cause to appear remotely.

 

EFFECTIVE MAY 2, 2022, THE 338TH DISTRICT COURT WILL NO LONGER USE ZOOM, ALL APPEARANCES ARE IN PERSON.

DOCKET CALL IS AT 10:30 AM

 

ABSOLUTELY NO OFF DOCKET MATTERS WILL BE HANDLED.

 

ALL PARTIES MUST WEAR MASKS.

 

***NO MORE THAN THIRTY (30) PERSONS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE COURTROOM AT ANY GIVEN TIME TO ADHERE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING STANDARDS.

 

*** NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS ARE PERMITTED INTO THE COURTROOM. THE LIVESTREAM FUNCTION WILL STILL BE OPEARABLE.

***PARTIES WHO ARE COVID POSITIVE MUST IMMEDIATELY INFORM THE COURT***

 

***DEFENDANTS WHO ARE COVID POSITIVE MUST PROVIDE A VALID POSITIVE TEST RESULT***

 

The 338th District Court will continue to comply with the Texas Supreme Court COVID orders, the COVID orders of the local administrative judge and the judiciary, and will maintain social distancing and all applicable COVID protocols to ensure safety for all parties involved.

NO PERSON, OTHER THAN THE COURT REPORTER, MAY RECORD A COURT PROCEEDING WITHOUT THE COURT’S PERMISSION.  THIS PROHIBITION APPLIES TO ALL PERSONS, INCLUDING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC VIEWING COURT PROCEEDINGS ON ANY COURT’S YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND TO PERSONS WITH THE ABILITY TO RECORD ANY ZOOM OR OTHER VIRTUAL COURT PROCEEDING.  ANY PERSON FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THIS ORDER FACES CONTEMPT PROCEEDINGS, INCLUDING A FINE OF UP TO $500 AND A SENTENCE OF CONFINEMENT FOR UP TO SIX (6) MONTHS IN JAIL FOR EACH ACT OF CONTEMPT OF COURT.
